Sleder’s Voted Best Bar in Grand Traverse – Thank You!
Thank you to everyone who voted us Best Bar in the Record-Eagle’s reader’s choice awards for Best of Grand Traverse Region 2018. We won! Our actual bar is a 21-foot single slab of solid mahogany sided with cherry wood, and that alone is a century old and one of a kind. Yet our bar is much more than the sawmill slabs Vencil Sleder and his neighbors hammered together each Sunday over three years, although that is remarkable! Sleder’s is a place of gathering and also remembering. We’re told many wonderful stories about the parents and grandparents and great grandparents who came here and made traditions here. We are grateful to them all and to you that after 136 years, we are still here. What makes us the best in any sense of the word is you and yours, and we are humbled and ready for continued good times with you in the year ahead! Come alone or bring your friends, your family, coworkers, or clients . . . Grab a booth, a table, or a stool at the bar. We welcome you all.

We also want to thank everyone who voted us Best Hamburger-Local in the Record Eagle’s reader’s choice awards for Best of Grand Traverse Region 2018. We won 2nd Runner Up, and we are tickled pink! Our locally sourced beef and buffalo burgers, ground fresh daily, come from Oleson’s Farm in Traverse City and have been a Sleder’s tradition as far back as we can remember. We think they’re delicious, especially the way our superb chefs grill them and our awesome servers serve them, and we love that you agree! Thank you!
Enjoy the Music of the 2019 Sleder’s “On the Porch” Concert Series
The Sleder’s 2019 concert series, On the Porch, will kick off on January 27 and run through Memorial Day. The music series features international, national, and regionally renowned singers and songwriters on tour who perform their own original music. Concert goers at Sleder’s enjoy folk rock, Celtic, traditional, jazz, and blues music in an intimate setting with full dining and bar service. The concert series is sponsored by Connemara Concerts, WNMC 90.7 FM, and Leelanau Sound. The lineup for 2019 so far includes the following shows, and more will be added in the coming months. We’ll update our blog and Facebook page with the details, so stay tuned!
