Dublin, Ireland’s Aoife Scott, named Best Folk Act at the 2018 Irish Post Music Awards (IRE) and Emerging Artist of the Year at the Live Ireland Awards (US), will be performing at Sleder’s “On the Porch” with renowned guitarist, Andrew Meaney, on September 11 at 7:30 pm.
About Aoife Scott
Award winning Aoife Scott is a true veteran of the Irish and Folk Festival circuit having performed and headlined at dozens of festivals across the continents, including The National Folk Festival and Port Fairy Folk Festival in Australia, the Mood Indigo Cultural Festival in India, the Milwaukee Irish Fest here in the USA, the Festival Interceltique de Lorient in France, the London Feis in the UK, and the Temple Bar Trad Fest in Ireland.
“Scott may only just have released her critically acclaimed first album, but her voice has a maturity that is
reminiscent of both the English singer (Kate Rusby) and Scotland’s own beloved Eddi Reader” – Ticketmaster.co.uk
Aoife and her cousins, Róisín O & Danny O Reilly from The Coronas, released the single “Grace,” which hit #1 on iTunes in Ireland. Aoife’s single “All Along the Wild Atlantic Way” also hit #1, knocking Ed Sheeran off the top spot and was also named “Song of the Year” at the Irish Folk Music Awards in 2017. Visit Aoife’s website for a video preview of her music.
Internationally renowned guitarist, Andrew Meaney from Rathmines Co. Dublin, will be performing with Aoife. Listen to a sample of Andrew’s powerful rhythmic style of playing in The December Letter.
