Sleder’s Family Tavern is pleased to announce Sweet Joe Williams and Preachers Daughter (Elizabeth Sexton Rivers) will bring their unique mix of guitar and outstanding singing to the Sleder’s Porch on Sunday, December 1, 2019 at 5:00 p.m.
Sweet Joe Williams has been burning up the stages of Northern Michigan since the young age of 14. By the time Joe turned 16 he had earned a spot in his mom’s infamous polka band Agnes and her Polka Dotz. In his early 20’s he could no longer deny his calling to the Rock N Roll scene and on it goes.
Elizabeth Sexton Rivers (AKA Preachers Daughter) was born into a musical family as well. MaryAnne Rivers, folk singer/songwriter invited Elizabeth to the stage during one of Grand Rapids famous “Festival” weekends at age 7 to engage in her first performance. She grew into her voice as a back-up singer honing her harmony skills until Jazz and R&B pulled her to the front of the stage and into an almost 20 year career with David Chown’s variety band The Look-out Cats featuring Laurie Sears.
Together Sweet Joe Williams and Preachers Daughter have co-written over 30 songs procuring a signature sound that is lively, eclectic and entertaining.
